Its only a few days until the Banger Scottish Championship (18th July) so ensure you get along early to get ideal spectating area.

Junior Bangers are also on the agenda for there 2nd meeting at Thunder Valley, where the kids will work hard to emulate the 'Bangers' and provide some good contact racing.

1300 Stock Cars, 1400 Hot Rods, Ftooz and 1600 Stox are all also on the fixture, where we will see Gordon Alexander and Jim Pitcaithly racing for the first time with the Scottish flags on there roof since they won there respective championships at the Speed weekend at the start of July.

£10 for adults, and £5 for concessions / kids. Under 8s go free
Scottish Championships
Gordon Alexander won the first ever Scottish Championship at Thunder Valley, winning the 1300 Stock Car event from Shaz Law and Darren McAlpine who all put up a great race. Gogs seemed to be away and clear and strolling it until a yellow flag came out for the wheel coming off the 473 car. The pack was closed up, and Shaz and Darren both got into the lead at one point, only for GA to give them a good punt wide to regain the lead.

Jim Pitcaithly won the 1400 Hot Rod Scottish Championship on the Sunday from Jon Taylor and Alan Cuthbert. Pitcaithly led from start to finish, although it seemed that Cuthbert was the one on a charge, coming from slightly further back the grid, to come through to take 3rd in the end.
9th May Preview
This coming Sunday at Thunder Valley Raceway, we have seen a small fixture tweak, now on the agenda we have Scottish Ftooz, 1600 Stox, 1300 Saloons, 1400 Rods and 2 litre bangers.

I'm not sure as to what to expect from the bangers this week, however, if you aint there, you'll miss out! Personally, I think we can expect to see some of the Rejects, Coalpower, TM and Team Extreme, with possibly one or two other self drivers, though, that is all unconfirmed.

With the 1300s coming to life, and Gordon Alexander certainly showing them how to mix it up, it could be interesting to see if he will feel the wrath of the bumper from those he picked on last week! There is probably around 15 1300s active in Scotland now, and should they all turn up this week, then we could have some cracking racing - Last week I think we seen probably some of the best racing this year in Scotland. We could expect to see Shaz back out and back to form after a few problems over the last couple of weeks, in addition, there could be even more new drivers out on track, with a couple of drivers almost ready to go.

The 1600s should as always, put on a show, with some great racing guaranteed. Paul Barron will be looking to close the gap further on Stuart Cowie who is now less than 10 points ahead. We could see John-Lee Green back out on track, after his coming together with Barron a couple of weeks ago - Will this develop further, or will it be left as it was? I guess, we'll just have to wait and see! Chris Harkness was certainly flying last week, and could be one to beat should he get away from the scraps early on - He'll be up to blue grade now after winning two races last week, which should make him a little harder to catch!

The 1400 hot rods have provided some excellent racing so far this season, with numbers picking up as the weeks go on. We've now had 13/14 drivers take to the track, with 10/11 of them now becoming regular racers. Jim Pitcaithly is the man to catch it seems, after him finding a good dry weather setup now too! Ian Taylor and Ian Ostler are in hot pursuit in the track points championship, with less than 10 points seperating the 3 of them.

Don't forget, any photos with the race2print watermark on scottish-stockcars.net can be pre-ordered for collection/payment in the track shop at TVR. Come along to the track shop for an array of racing goods for spectators, drivers and race crews!

Come along to Thunder Valley Raceway this coming Sunday for some great racing, bring your friends and family too.

Or why not get involved with our production series we intend on starting up soon.. All you need is a standard road car and a helmet... There is no need for a harness, roll cage or any other race gear. For information on this, email info@lochgelly-motorsport-complex.co.uk
2nd May Information/Preview
This coming Sunday at Thunder Valley Raceway, Lochgelly, see's the 1300 saloons, 1400 hot rods, 1600 stox, junior saloons(Minis) and Scottish Ftooz in action, with a 1pm start time.

The 1300s have been in good form this season so far, and with an extra driver or 2 expected to be out this week, things could be even more lively. There has been 11 or 12 driver featuring regularly, and have provided some great contact racing, with very little if any damage to the cars themselves. The track allows for the drivers to be pushed wide and gain the momentum to come back at the opposition the next bend, allowing for some great tit for tat racing.

The 1600s have been the most popular class of the season so far, and with the new grades in effect, we could see the balance of victories change, forcing some of the drivers to put even more effort in to getting to the front of the grid - However, in recent times, it has been Paul Barron who has been the star of the show - Can anyone stop him in his tracks? There has been a few new drivers appearing with each meeting, and numbers are on the increase, with drivers beginning to get a feel of the track. We can look forward to some good crashes, and some quality racing from the 16s this coming week!

The Scottish Ftooz could be interesting as well, with no particular driver standing out from the rest. The drivers that have been racing have put on some cracking racing. The drivers can put the bumper in knowing it won't necessarily get them a position, as the competition often comes back at them the next bend, given the nature of the track, and the ample room to run wide and gain momentum up the straights.

The 1400 hot rods have picked up in numbers slightly since the opening meeting, with 10 drivers now taking to the track in the last meeting, and any one of any of them are capable of racing for victory without blocking or moving the competition.

Junior Saloons are also in attendance for there 2nd meeting of the season.

Come along to Thunder Valley Raceway this coming Sunday for some great racing.
